Upgrade Procedure

How to upgrade TubePress from one version to another.
This article applies to TubePress when used in standalone PHP. WordPress users should refer to this article instead.

This page details the procedure to upgrade TubePress from one version to another.

  1. Download the latest version of TubePress as a zip file to your desktop.

  2. Unzip the file. It will expand into a directory named something like tubepress_pro_x_y_z.

  3. Using FTP, find on your web server where you installed TubePress Pro. You'll want to find the "old" tubepress_pro_x_y_z directory.

  4. With your FTP program, upload the unzipped folder from Step 2 next to the "old" tubepress_pro_x_y_z on your web server (the location of which you found in Step 3)

  5. If you performed any of the optional installations (Shadowbox.js or JW Player), repeat those installations to your new version of TubePress.

  6. Update settings.php, which you last edited during TubePress's initial setup, to reflect the "new" TubePress installation. Typically this means you'll need to update the value of user > urls > base to reflect the new version installation.

  7. Update ajax.php, which you also last edited during TubePress's initial setup, to reflect the "new" TubePress installation. Typically this means you'll need to update the require directive to reflect the new version installation.

  8. Once you have confirmed that the new version of TubePress is working properly, you may delete the old version.
