Hello, I followed the tutorial for adding a API key for youtube for Wordpress.

The tutorial is well written and good, but at the end when I copy the API key and want o paste it in TUBEPRESS, it is impossible since : GOOGLE API does not exist anymore in the TUBEPRES plugin
. Now there is a: Youtube api key already. With info text below it telling me not to remove it and leave that key.

What do I have have to do now?

It is confusing . I will go ahead an try now but still please mail me today. And tell me to paste it there or not. And why so i understand.

And please for yourself update you tutorial asap.

Regards, Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for getting in touch. From what you’ve described, it sounds like you are using a very old version of TubePress. As this blog post 1 from 2015 explains, anyone running versions of TubePress older than 4.1.0 were affected by YouTube’s shutdown of their version 2 API. For this reason, we’d highly recommend removing your current installation of TubePress and replacing it with the latest version of TubePress; you can do so by following this series of setup docs 2. (We’ve also reviewed and updated the YouTube API setup instructions; thanks!)

Alternatively, you might consider our cloud-hosted service TubePress Express 3. It’s fast, it’s easy, and we offer everyone a free 30-day trial here 4.

Please let us know if you have any questions; we are here to help!

hello,

I really dont like your tricks!

I found Tubepress as a review on a website.

I was led to the official Wordpress plugin search. and there you still put the old version. On purpose. Without any explanation that its old!

Very bad to leave that there for 2 years! Its still there today!

Now, after reading your post I went back there had to discover this.
Then I went to your official page and now you don't have a free plugin anymore.
And you donĀ“t tell me this in your post up here!

You put a long post and place 4 links, none of them direct to your plugin
which I thought was weird in the first place!
And now I can not use it free but only paid versions.

I really hate it when people like you are playing tricks and lie around stuff.

it wastes a lot of my time gives me a lot of headache in searching and not understanding what is wrong.
i dont mind paying dollars for a good plugin,
No: in fact I am glad to pay you for something good I can use.

I will try your demo because I am new in posting Yourtube galleries and want to check your quality.
But after all these stupid tricks and lies and false plugin downloads it has made me not really want to deal with you anymore.

I hope you change this behavior immediately and become straight forward,
Also you have to change your plugin on the Wordpress search a.s.a.p
If you dont do that in the next couple of days I will for sure not buy your plugin or cloudhosting

I do appreciate that you reacted and that your post was well written and with a lot of info.
Also, I appreciate you have several good explanation pages on your website on how to install etc. I see potential in you
If you become honest and straight forward then you will deliver a very good service,

Regards, Paul

Hi Paul,

I’m so sorry for any confusion we inadvertently caused. It is not our intent to trick or deceive anyone in any way.

We do have a notice in the WordPress plugin directory that states that we no longer provide updates or support there. We are considering re-entering the wordpress.org plugin market in the future, but don’t have an ETA at this time.

We do offer a free trial version of our WordPress plugin. However, it’s limited to 3 videos in a gallery. This doc 1 will get you started on either the free or premium plugin.

As mentioned previously, we also offer a full 30-day trial of our cloud-hosted service here 2.

Again, apologies for any misunderstanding. If there is anything we can do to assist, please let us know.
